The new year has started great, we have new challenges and wonderful projects ahead. One of them is to participate in the Erasmus+ CliCKonT project. This project responds to the urgent need to pay attention to environmental problems imposed by the acceleration of climate change. European Union is worried about citizen’s disinterest in environmental problems, for that reason, the main objective of the project is the development of useful tools for awareness of environmental issues, based on non-formal education methodologies.

The first work meeting took place between January 22 and 25 in Wroclaw (Poland). This beautiful city known as the Venice of the East or the city of gnomes, was an incomparable setting to start such an inspiring way. During the working days we combine theoretical classes with practical activities to learn about successful local experiences.

Simone Pagni of the Fondazione Toscana Sostenibile presented us the keys to effective and efficient communication on climate change. After working in the theoretical framework, we analyzed different existing texts to assign them within the different categories and comment on their content and strong and weak parts that we appreciate in each of them. From the same organization, the philologist Ludovica Briola transferred the importance of using a correct language to achieve effective communication and allow adults to approach climate change publications.

Among the local initiatives that we had the opportunity to meet was the Umbrella Foundation and Sektor3, a building managed by them where associations and NGOs are adviced, trained and mentored, as well as free access to a spot with a computer, library, postbox … All the necessary to launch a social initiative.
We also visit the Ekocentrum, where Witek and Kasia, from the Extinction Rebellion, told us about the international movement in which people declare themselves in nonviolent rebellion against the criminal negligence of the governments of the world for not urgently addressing the ecological and civilization crisis.

Danuta Lukasinska, from the Eko Potential Foundation, told us about the projects that they are launching in Wroclaw in order to involve the local community in activities to mitigate the effects of climate change. Circular economy and zero waste lifestyle projects work from its organization. We even had a zero waste wet wipes workshop!
Finally, we visited the Hydropolis museum. It is a reference throughout Europe where diverse multimedia technologies, interactive installations, faithful replicas and models, as well as touch screens provide extensive information, to one and only purpose: show water from various and fascinating perspectives. We were very impressed by the touch panels where different alternatives for water saving were shown in a real visual way from the point of view of individual homes, neighborhoods and community places.
